Viessmann to star at Allianz Arena
7th October 2025
GERMANY: Viessmann is to supply 19 heat pumps to the German football champions Bayern Munich, in a move to cut its stadium’s CO₂ heating emissions by up to 40%.
The plan is to gradually upgrade Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena with state-of-the-art, renewable climate solutions from Viessmann Climate Solutions and Carrier Global.
Opened in 2005, the 75,000-capacity Allianz Arena is a futuristic football stadium, famous for its colour-changing exterior.

German manufacturer Viessmann has been a climate partner of the Bundesliga team since 2021, and became part of the Carrier Global Corporation last year.
Three large heat pumps from Carrier were installed in 2022 to operate the undersoil heating system. Now, in 2025, 19 Viessmann Vitocal 350 HT-PRO heat pumps will follow. These will be responsible for the decentralised heat supply of the entire stadium and ensure, for example, that the interior spaces of the Allianz Arena, such as the stadium’s bistro, the fans’ store, and museum, are kept at a comfortable temperature for the numerous spectators. In addition, the roofs of the spectator control areas will be equipped with around 1,050 photovoltaic modules to increase energy self-sufficiency.
