Bosch RTU the latest to pass DOE technology challenge

USA: Bosch has become the latest manufacturer to pass the US Department of Energy’s HVAC technology challenge with its York heat pump rooftop unit.

The York product, now owned by Bosch following the recent €7.4m purchase of Johnson Controls residential and light commercial HVAC business, is a 15 ton heat pump, which can provide comfortable performance down to -10ºF (-23.3ºC).

Suitable for both replacement and new installations, new RTU can be interfaced with a wide variety of building automation systems. This includes demand response capabilities to limit electric heat run time via remote access.

“The DOE Commercial Building HVAC Technology Challenge has allowed Bosch Home Comfort Group to showcase our expanded engineering capabilities to support our strategic objective of innovation, efficiency and decarbonisation,” said David Budzinski, Bosch Home Comfort Group’s global deputy CEO and president Americas.
