Wieland to invest $15m in second Ohio factory

USA: To meet demand for data centre cooling, the German-owned Wieland Group is to invest $15m in a second heat exchanger production facility in Delaware, Ohio.
The company will establish operations in a 100,000ft2 facility while continuing production at its existing Wieland Onda facility in Delaware.
The existing 52,225ft2 Delaware operation became part of Wieland, a global copper and technology company, with the acquisition of Italian manufacturer Onda SpA in 2024.
The new facility is under 2 miles from its current factory
Founded in Germany in 1820, Wieland operates over 80 locations worldwide, including 44 in North America, and serves industries ranging from electronics and refrigeration to automotive, construction, and data centre infrastructure.
“Demand for high-performance data centre cooling is accelerating, and this investment gives us the capacity to grow with our customers,” said Rodrigo De Luca, VP of Wieland Onda, Global. “Our existing Delaware team has built a strong foundation for this next phase. Adding a second location will allow us to increase production and create new careers while strengthening Wieland’s data centre cooling business in North America.”
