Worker dies at Carrier India facility

INDIA: A worker at Carrier Airconditioning & Refrigeration has died as a result of what has been described as a compressor “explosion” at the company’s plant in Gurugram, India, on Tuesday (June 10).

Reports are confused but the 28-year-old electrician is said to have been working outdoors on the compressor of an AC unit at the plant. The victim was rushed to Medanta Hospital, but doctors declared him dead.

Police in Khedki Daula have commenced an investigation into the incident.

In a statement to the Cooling Post, Carrier said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of a long-term contractor working at our facility in Gurugram, India.
