Worker dies at Carrier India facility

INDIA: A worker at Carrier Airconditioning & Refrigeration has died as a result of what has been described as a compressor “explosion” at the company’s plant in Gurugram, India, on Tuesday (June 10).
Reports are confused but the 28-year-old electrician is said to have been working outdoors on the compressor of an AC unit at the plant. The victim was rushed to Medanta Hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Police in Khedki Daula have commenced an investigation into the incident.
In a statement to the Cooling Post, Carrier said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of a long-term contractor working at our facility in Gurugram, India. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. We are fully cooperating with the authorities and reviewing how this tragedy occurred. The health and safety of our people is our highest priority, and we are committed to supporting those affected during this difficult time.”
The Gurgaon plant was built in 1988 and currently manufactures a comprehensive range of HVAC solutions from light commercial units to large chillers.
