NETHERLANDS: Yanmar, the Japanese manufacturer of gas engine heat pumps, has completed the acquisition of Dutch football club Almere City FC.
Almere, 30km east of Amsterdam, has been home to Yanmar’s EMEA headquarters since 1989. Yanmar Europe BV has been the club’s 4,501-capacity stadium sponsor for the past decade.
Almere City FC competes in the Eerste Divisie, the Netherlands’ second tier football division, following relegation from the Eredivisie in 2024–25.
Yanmar is known for its commitment to sports, particularly football. Since 1957, it has owned Cerezo Osaka, which competes in the J1 League, Japan’s top-tier football competition.
