Zanotti founder dies
ITALY: Italian commercial and industrial refrigeration manufacturer Zanotti SpA has announced the death of its founder Mario Zanotti. He was 89.
Having founded Zanotti Mario in Suzzara, Lombardy, in 1962, he became best known for the Uniblock refrigeration unit. A revolutionary concept at the time, it combined compressor, condenser, evaporator and electrical panel in a single appliance.
The company continued to expand and diversify throughout the 90s with the introduction of a range of products including multi-compressor racks and transport refrigeration units.
Mario Zanotti remained at the helm of the company until 2006. In 2016, the company was acquired by Daikin.
