Ziehl-Abegg reports record annual sales

GERMANY: Fans and drives manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg has reported record annual sales for 2022 of €873m, a 22% increase on 2021.

The company says this was achieved despite the closure of its site in Russia and the general lack of stability in the supply chain which made production planning difficult. In addition, Ziehl-Abegg was able to continue with its plans for further investments in new plants in Germany and abroad.

Globally, the number of employees grew by nearly 10% to 5,100.

CEO Dr Marc Wucherer attributed part of the increase to the “unavoidable need” for an increase in selling prices as a result of the sharp rises in purchase prices.

The company sees increasing demand in a number of sectors, including HVAC, boosting demand for energy efficient Ziehl-Abegg products in the coming years. In addition, it cites the continuing interest in heat pumps as further evidence for a heat up in demand for quiet and efficient fans.
