Airedale goes large with SmartCool

UK: Airedale will unveil a super-sized 500kW data centre cooling unit at this week’s Data Centre World (DCW) exhibition in London.
The SmartCool XL is Airedale’s latest CRAC product in their IT cooling portfolio. It is said to have been developed specifically for large colocation and hyperscale data centre applications.
The super-sized cooling system at DCW has been specifically adapted for the show, with see-through panels and LED lighting, to provide visitors with an exclusive view of the internal features including the optimised coil design, chilled water delivery system and fan enclosure.
With more cooling for less space and power, SmartCool XL delivers powerful cooling, whilst allowing more space for IT equipment and contributing to low PUEs.
With free-cooling capabilities when matched with an Airedale free-cooling chiller, the Smart Cool XL is said to be able to offer up to 98% free cooling in most European data centre hubs.
Units feature EC fans as standard and are said to achieve EERs of 19.28.
An extra low ambient cooling kit available as an option for temperatures as low as -40ºC.
