Copeland releases 50hp scroll in Asia

CHINA: US compressor manufacturer Copeland is to launch a 50hp scroll for heat pump OEMs in Asia.

Compatible with R32, R454B and R410A refrigerants, the compressor will be manufactured at its factory in Suzhou, China, and will be first available in Asia, with plans to expand to other markets.

The compressor is available in two options: the first without injection and the second with Copeland’s enhanced vapour injection (EVI). With EVI, the compressor is capable to -30°C outdoor ambient temperature, Copeland says.

The 50hp scroll compressors can be applied in tandem configurations. With two pairs of 50hp tandems, Copeland expects that OEMs will be able to develop 600kW heat pumps with better system cost.
