Heavy duty motor system for mission critical applications

USA: Texas-based motor manufacturer Infinitum has unveiled the Aircore Heavy Duty, a high efficiency motor system specifically designed for mission critical HVAC fan and pump applications.

The Aircore Heavy Duty features an integrated variable frequency drive and, according to the manufacturer, can power heavy loads with up to 25% more efficiency, maximum power density and high-reliability.

It’s also said to be 50% lighter and 60% shorter in length when compared to conventional motor and drive solutions, the company says.

Built with a rugged exterior for protection against dust, dirt and water, the Aircore Heavy Duty operates reliably in harsh outdoor or wet environments, maintaining high-efficiency over a wide range of operating points.

Available immediately, it comes in a comprehensive range of power, bearing, NEMA MG1 shaft and frame sizes suitable for demanding, heavy duty applications, such as HVAC equipment, vertical-inline pumps, and CDUs used in data centres and in other mission critical facilities.

Like other Infinitum motors, the Aircore Heavy Duty motor replaces the traditional copper-wound iron stator with a lightweight, PCB stator that is 10x more reliable. The motor uses 66% less copper and no iron in the stator and is said to produce significantly less noise.
