MTA adds R454B option to Aries chiller

ITALY: MTA is now offering its Aries Tech 2 range of air-cooled water chillers with the lower GWP refrigerant R454B as an option to R410A.
The Aries chillers with R454B are said to offer the same cooling performance to the R410A versions launched last year.
R454B is a Chemours refrigerant branded as Opteon XL41. An A2L refrigerant, it is a blend of R32 and R1234yf with a GWP of 466.
As standard, all Aries Tech chillers are equipped with four hermetic scroll compressors in tandem configuration, which work in two separate refrigeration circuits. Cooling capacities vary from 162kW to 615 kW.
Reversible heat pumps are available, as are versions with 100% heat recovery, high efficiency solutions and noise-optimised versions with compressors in soundproofed housings.
The chillers meet the requirements of the Ecodesign Directive 2281/2016 (Tier2) and are said to be ideal for process cooling applications and medium-sized to large cold water air conditioning systems.
