Semi-welded plate heat exchanger

GERMANY: Kelvion has developed the HPL100S heat exchanger designed for demanding commercial and industrial applications involving high pressures and temperatures.

The innovative semi-welded plate heat exchanger is said to combine the advantages of a highly efficient plate and a laser-welded cassette.

Two plates are joined with a laser-welded seam and fitted with a gasket. The extremely narrow plate gap creates a highly turbulent flow, which leads to highly efficient heat transfer. Green shows the welded flow channel for the critical medium, purple the sealed flow channel for the non-critical medium

It is designed for applications with extremely high pressures up to 63bar-g and temperatures up to 170°C.

The HPL plate gap is extremely narrow with turbulent flow for highly efficient heat transfer at a maximum flow rate of 160m3/h.
