Smart control for turnkey HVAC plant

UK: Daikin Applied has announced the release of its new Smart Control System (SCS), a control solution suitable for managing hydronic plants, including chillers, heat pumps, AHUs and fan coils.

Available from January, SCS allows the optimisation of the working conditions of a whole HVAC system, focusing on comfort applications—light commercial, offices, small and medium hotels.

The latest development of Daikin control solutions, SCS is available as an external panel to be connected to the units in the system via Modbus protocol.

SCS is offered in three main configurations, allowing for scalability in hardware, license and price. Each version can manage up to four chillers or heat pumps with a total cooling capacity of up to 500kW and additional equipment as follows:
Light (up 500 data points): up to 20 fan coil zones or 10 AHUs;
Medium (up to 1250 data points): up to 70 fan coil’s zones, or 10 AHUs + 50 fan coils’ zones;
Full (up to 2500 datapoints): up to 120 fan coil’s zones, or 10 AHUs + 100 fan coils’ zones.

A fan coil zone can consist of up to 30 fan coils, managed via a dedicated controller, also developed and supplied by Daikin.
