Toshiba USX Edge heat pump on R32

UK: The Toshiba Universal Smart X (USX) Series Edge high capacity modular air-source heat pump features an enhanced R32 DC rotary compressor.

It features a module control system that optimises internal water flow and pressure. In addition, it claims an industry-first PWM converter that enhances power factor, eliminates harmonic current issues, and reduces losses.

The USX Series Edge is available in three sizes – 50hp, 60hp, and 70hp – and in cooling only, standard heat pump and powerful heating variants. The 60hp powerful heating variant is engineered to operate in low-temperature environments down to -25ºC.

Its modular design allows configurations up to 128 units to deliver a maximum power output of 3.2MW. The compartmentalised components provide built-in redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted operation and minimising downtime.

SEERs are up to 4.90 and COPs range from 3.39 to 3.62, depending on the model.

The space-saving X-frame design reduces installation space by 70% compared to conventional R134a models.
