Trane adds R290 air-to-water chillers

BELGIUM: Trane has added the Aries N series of R290 (propane) air-to-water chillers to its portfolio.

The Aries N was originally developed by the Italian chiller manufacturer MTA and debuted at Mostra Convegno in 2022. Padua-based MTA was acquired by Trane Technologies in May.

Said to be suited for industrial process cooling applications and commercial HVAC systems, the chillers are available in cooling capacities from 175kW to 335kW. EERs range from 2.87 to 2.97 and SEERs from 4.10 to 4.14 at 35ºC ambient at 12ºC/7ºC evaporator in/out water temperature.

Based on a dual circuit design, the Aries N feature EC fans, electronic expansion valves and semi-hermetic inverter-driven compressors. Additionally, customers can choose from optional features such as partial heat recovery and super low noise versions with sound pressure levels down to 57dBA

New Aries N chillers complement Trane’s broad portfolio of comfort and process solutions with ultra-low GWP refrigerants like R1234ze and R1233zd(E).
