VFD drives with higher power ratings

UK: Invertek Drives has extended its range of Optidrive Coolvert variable frequency drives with two new compact frame sizes with higher power ratings.

Specifically designed for brushless DC motor (BLDC) compressors, heat pumps and condensing units, the VFDs are compatible with A2L, A3 and CO2 refrigerants.

The new frame sizes 3 and 4, announced at this week’s Mostra Convegno Expocomfort show in Milan, meet the demands of scroll compressor manufacturers for higher capacity output, with 400V, 3-phase output current reaching 30A and 39A in frame size 3, and 46A to 58A in frame size 4.

Of space-saving design, achieved through slim DC link technology, these drives are promoted as the smallest in their class, saving OEMS valuable space in applications like refrigeration and heat pumps.

The Coolvert range requires only five parameters to be set for seamless BLDC/PMAC compressor motor configuration.

In addition to the benefits for OEMs, the Coolvert VFDs are said to be ideal for a wide range of sectors, including data centres, supermarkets, industrial process cooling and building air conditioning systems.
