UK: Broxburn-based commercial refrigeration equipment specialist Capital Cooling Ltd has secured an £80,000 grant from West Lothian Council to support its expansion.

The award under the West Lothian Economic Growth Plan (WLEGP) will go towards the company’s planned expansion which includes a new 4,000m² warehouse extension completed last week.

Capital Cooling Ltd md Alister McLean expressed his delight at the award and confirmed it would be used to support its new developments in Broxburn and the new jobs it would create.

Describing the company’s investment, he said: “This includes a warehouse expansion which is well underway and a new test facility is also planned within the Broxburn site, which will provide a base for more efficient development and testing of product ranges. The new facility will enable the business to continue to produce industry leading products and when it is complete the chamber will be the only one within Scotland.”

The business employs more than 140 people across its four UK sites with 62 jobs based in Broxburn.

Executive councillor for development and transport, and chair of the Enterprise Sub Committee, Cathy Muldoon commented: “The development and expansion plans being undertaken by Capital Cooling Ltd in Broxburn are very exciting.  This is an excellent example of a national company choosing to expand and develop its business in West Lothian.

“Capital Cooling Ltd is clearly a leader in its field and it is great that the WLEGP can support the creation of 14 new jobs in Broxburn and in particular in a company which is ambitious and growing its business.”
