Daikin Applied buys Brooktherm Refrigeration

UK/ITALY: Daikin Applied Europe has acquired UK contracting company Brooktherm Refrigeration Ltd.

Established in 2000 and based in Birkenhead, Brooktherm is a provider of industrial refrigeration and HVAC services, primarily in the northwest. These include turnkey projects and services, including the design and supply of bespoke maintenance and service.

The company achieved a turnover of over £14m in the year to March 31 2023, a 5.7% increase on the previous year. Profit for the year was £890,135.

Following the acquisition, Brooktherm will maintain its trading name as a member of the Daikin Group and directors Jamie and Daniel Keating will continue to be involved in the management of the company.

Daikin Applied said that the acquisition of Brooktherm was another step in its strategy to develop its Industrial HVAC projects and solutions capability while strengthening its technical knowledge in preparation for new innovations such as “natural” refrigerants.

Berooktherm will complement Daikin’s service division, Daikin Applied Service, as a provider of service and maintenance solutions for a wide temperature range of products covering refrigeration, process cooling and industrial HVAC applications.

A subsidiary of Daikin Industries, Daikin Applied Europe is based in Italy, in Ariccia, Rome. It is the European competence centre for the design and production of chillers, heat pumps, air handling units, compressors and inverter drives.
