Danfoss backs new IOR Lego refrigeration kits

IOR chief executive Miriam Rodway with the new Danfoss-sponsored Lego kits and Danfoss technical sales engineer Sam Baker

UK: Building on the success of its Lego refrigeration plant kit, the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) has announced the launch of even more Lego kits in collaboration with Danfoss.

The Lego “build your own fridge” kits, introduced in 2024 and funded by consultants FJB, were made available to STEM Ambassadors to support outreach activities in schools, colleges, and other education settings.

“We are delighted to bring the Lego kit back for our STEM ambassadors,” commented IOR president Lisa Jayne Cook. “The first edition exceeded all expectations. This new series sponsored by Danfoss gives our STEM ambassadors a powerful, hands-on tool that helps young people visualise how refrigeration works.”

Danfoss marketing communications manager, Tina Holst Helledie, said: “We are proud to support the Institute of Refrigeration’s STEM outreach with these Lego kits, which offer a hands-on way to bring refrigeration principles to life. Lego is a globally recognised Danish brand, making it a natural match for Danfoss in combining learning, innovation, and play.”

The IOR is keen to expand its team of regional refrigeration STEM ambassadors with individuals who share an enthusiasm for RACHP careers. Those interested in joining are encouraged to contact matt@ior.org.uk.
