Eurovent and ETL align rooftop unit tests
4th September 2025
UK/BELGIUM: Eurovent Certification testing standards for rooftop heat pump units have now been aligned with those of the UK’s Energy Technology List (ETL).
This not only streamlines the ETL listing process for manufacturers but also simplifies product selection for UK specifiers.
The ETL and Eurovent Certification have worked together since early 2024 when they first aligned testing standards on refrigerated display cabinets. Since then, the two bodies have created an ever-growing list of aligned products, including evaporative air coolers and five heat pump technologies.
The ETL scheme featuring around 8,000 independently verified and accredited energy efficient products for the UK market. Backed by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), products featured on the ETL must be in the top 25% for energy efficiency on the market, in their class.
Eurovent Certification is a third-party certification body that assesses the performance of HVAC and refrigeration products. Its certification programmes independently verify product performance data, and includes laboratory testing, factory audits, software checks, and data consistency checks.
