Marstair signs “explosive” deal

Marstair director Chris Chisman (left) signs the partnership deal with Ex-Machinery MD Gido van Tienhoven

UK/NETHERLANDS: Yorkshire-based Marstair has signed a deal to supply ATEX zone 1 condensers to Dutch explosion proof HVAC equipment company Ex-Machinery.

The Ex-M MCUA condenser is the first new product release following the partnership agreement. They will be used to cool mobile containers in ATEX zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas.

With growth in the market and a focus on safety and compliance, the marine and oil and gas industry has an increasing demand for ATEX bespoke HVAC solutions. From July 2003, new equipment intended for use in gas explosive atmospheres must comply with ATEX regulations.

The new condenser is said to combine intelligent explosion protection methods with a condenser featuring copper tubing and copper fins and stainless steel casing. This copper/copper construction prevents galvanic corrosion and enables Marstair to claim a lifespan five times longer than a standard explosion proof condenser.

Optional use of R134a refrigerant guarantees a reliable steady cooling performance at high ambient temperatures.

“Marstair are thrilled to be working in partnership with Ex-Machinery. Ex-Machinery’s extensive knowledge and expertise on ATEX and explosion proof equipment combined with Marstair’s ability to provide bespoke marine HVAC and refrigeration equipment is a very powerful combination,”  said Marstair director Chris Chisman.

Based in Zwijndrecht, South Holland, Ex-Machinery is a specialist in manufacturing industrial, explosion proof HVAC equipment and wifi systems.
