New Vox venue to host ACR Awards

The VoxUK: The ACR News Awards 2016 will be one of the first big events to take place at the new, soon to be opened Vox conference centre, Birmingham.

The air conditioning and refrigeration industry’s longest-established awards event, the ACR News Awards presentation evening takes place on Wednesday February 17, alongside the ACR Show 2016 at the NEC.

Part of the new £150m Resorts World Birmingham shopping and leisure complex on the NEC site, the Vox is a stand-alone banqueting venue, capable of accommodating up to 850 diners.

With the venue booked, the organiser, Datateam, is now accepting entries for the usual long-established categories, with two exceptions. This year, the Environmental Initiative Award has been split into two awards – Environmental Product of the Year and Environmental Project of the Year – and there is a new Website of the Year category.

ACR-AwardsThe full list of categories is:

Distributor/Wholesaler of the Year
Contractor of the Year
Consultant of the Year
Training Initiative of the Year
Marketing Initiative of the Year
Website of the Year
Environmental Product of the Year
Environmental Project of the Year
Refrigeration Product of the Year
Air Conditioning Product of the Year
Customer Service Award
The Alan Moor Award

Deadline for entries is September 30.

The Customer Service Award, now in its third year, is aimed specifically at ‘frontline’ staff – those people on the ground who deal with customers on site or on the telephone. Anyone working within the field of air conditioning and refrigeration can take part, whether they are the accounts clerk, receptionist, apprentice, engineer or company owner. They will then be subject to an industry vote.

Commenting on the Awards and the sponsorship opportunities available, ACR News’ Steve Bennion said: “The ACR News Awards represents a fantastic opportunity for companies to reach a targeted and highly engaged audience, while showing their support for the industry. Bitzer, Hawco, Smiths Brothers Stores, Cool Designs, Advanced Engineering and First Choice Refrigeration Spares are supporting the event which, taking place alongside the ACR Show, looks set to draw an impressive number of people.”
