11th July 2025
UK: Six young representatives of the RACHP industry will battle it out in the WorldSkills UK national finals in November.
The six – Samuel Jones (Practical Refrigeration Training Centre), Taylor McLaughlin (Cubic Works), Daniel Hunt (Royal Engineers), Isaac Jervis (Royal Engineers), Evan Jones (City of Portsmouth College) and Craig Gow (Glasgow Kelvin College) – won through to the final after three days of competition at the recent InstallerShow at the NEC.
They will now join over 400 talented apprentices and students representing more than 40 different skills competing for bronze, silver, and gold medals in the finals in Wales.

The finals will take place across venues in South Wales from 25-28 November. Finals for the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps category will take place at Cardiff and Vale College.
The finalists and medallists will be honoured at ICC Wales on Friday, 28 November.
Competitors under 21 at the time of the final and who score above average will also be considered for the UK’s international squad preparing to compete at the 2028 Skills Olympics in Aichi, Japan.
The RACHP skills competition is organised by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) and is sponsored by the F-gas registration company REFCOM and UK heat pump manufacturer Baxi.
