Stanref shuts its doors

UK: Pressure vessel manufacturer Stanref International is reported to have closed its doors after falling into administration for the second time in six months.

The Bury-St-Edmunds-based company was acquired from the administrator in October last year by investment company DAMSLE. Since then the company is said to have traded successfully as Stanref International (2017) Ltd, but again fell into administration at the beginning of this month after being unable to secure continued use of its current site beyond the end of May.

According to the East Anglian Daily Times, the administrators from McTear Williams & Wood were seeking a buyer for the business as a going concern, but warned that this would almost certainly require a buyer which already has premises of its own.

With no buyer on the horizon, the company is reported to have closed its doors yesterday.

Stanref was established in 1982, producing pressure vessels and heat exchangers for the commercial and industrial refrigeration and oil and gas, petrochemical and process sectors.
