Student prizes offered for best Rankine papers

The Rankine 2020 conference takes place at the University of Glasgow, where William Rankine worked and studied

UK: The organiser of the Rankine 2020 conference on organic Rankine cycle (ORC) systems and heat pumps is offering cash prizes for the best paper written by a student.

The conference, organised by the Institute of Refrigeration and taking place from 26 to 29 July 2020 at the University of Glasgow, coincides with the bicentenary of the birth of scientist William Rankine.

A prize of £500.00 will be awarded to the best student paper in each of the three conference streams – exploring power generation, working fluids and heating and cooling. From the three winning papers, an overall winner will receive an additional prize of £300.00.

To be eligible for the award it is necessary to be a registered student, undergraduate or postgraduate, on the 1 June 2020. The student must be the lead author and the majority of work must be that of the student, though co-authors can be listed if appropriate.
