UK: Daikin’s Sky Air A-series range of R32 air conditioners has won a second award, picking up the Energy Efficient Product of the Year HVACR at the Energy Awards 2017.

This latest accolade, presented at London’s Hilton Hotel on Wednesday, followed success in last year’s Cooling Awards where the Sky Air A-Series picked up an Air Conditioning Innovation award.

“To win another award for the Sky Air A-series really is a major achievement for Daikin UK and reflects the important progress we are making to lead the market towards lower global warming technologies,” said Daikin UK commercial director Mark Dyer.

The Sky Air A-series claims energy efficiencies of up to A++ and SEER up to 7.7. The manufacturer claims that the use of R32 refrigerant means it is 10% more efficient than its predecessor. The addition of Variable Refrigerant Technology, which automatically adjusts the refrigerant temperature to meet the required demand, in the top-spec Alpha, raises the energy savings to nearer 21%.
