A-Gas buys US reclaim business

Refri-ClaimUSA: A-Gas Americas has increased its refrigerant reclamation capabilities in the USA with the acquisition of Refri-Claim.

Formed in 2007, Refri-Claim is a division of ICOR International, the Indianapolis-based manufacturer and supplier of refrigerants.

A-Gas Americas chief executive Monte Roach said: “This acquisition is a part of our core strategy of managing the complete lifecycle of refrigerants for our customers. It will allow A-Gas to broaden its footprint and enhance its services’ offering to our wholesale partners, their contractors, end-users and other customers.”

A-Gas will take over the existing Refri-Claim customer base. All refrigerant cylinder stock, reclamation and refurbishment equipment will be transferred to A-Gas where it be will relocated to its operation in Magnolia, Texas.

The Refri-Claim over-the-counter cylinder exchange programme provides customers with back-up refrigerant cylinders, helps with repairs and handles the paperwork associated with recertification.

A-Gas Americas is a division of A-Gas International, an international group of companies with headquarters in the UK and further trading subsidiaries in the UK, South Africa, Australia, South East Asia, China and Thailand.

A-Gas Americas was formed in February this year from the merger of A-Gas Performance Chemicals with the Coolgas and RemTec businesses it acquired in 2012, and its Mexican agent Comercializadora Industrial JFD.
