ABB takes stake in data centre cooling software company
5th December 2025
SWITZERLAND/UK: Multinational electrical engineering corporation ABB has taken a minority stake in UK-based data centre cooling software company OctaiPipe.
OctaiPipe’s collaborative AI software platform has been designed to increase the performance of data centres by lowering energy demand by up to 30%.
The new partnership is said to combine ABB’s global reach and expertise with OctaiPipe’s privacy-first, on-premise AI platform for cooling optimisation – helping operators meet regulatory, security, and operational challenges.
The OctaiPipe solution employs advanced proprietary AI, including federated AI, multi-agent reinforcement learning, and digital twins to dynamically optimise cooling setpoints, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Its privacy-first, on-premise architecture is said to be designed for data centre operators seeking seamless scalability while being wary of cloud-hosted solutions.
