Belgium to auction 14 tonnes of seized R134a
13th March 2026
BELGIUM: Nearly 14 tonnes of confiscated R134a refrigerant is expected to raise over €62,000 in an auction being organised by the Belgian government finance agency.
Fin Shop Bornem, the sales centre of the Belgian government agency FPS Finance, are accepting email bids on 23 auction lots, each lot comprising 50 12kg cylinders of R134a. The starting bid per lot is set at €2,700.
The Belgian customs and excise laboratory is said to haver analysed and confirmed the contents of four random cylinders. The laboratory reports are available for inspection during viewing.

Bidders must comply with the requirements of the European F-gas regulation 2024/573. This means, in particular, that the buyer must have a valid registration and a sufficient quota for placing these fluorinated gases on the market within the EU. The buyer will need to submit an import declaration before the goods can be released.
The deadline for submitting bids is Thursday, April 30 at 10:00 (CET).
Viewing by appointment is possible on Monday, April 20.
