Clivet opens new European hub

ITALY: Air conditioning and heat pump manufacturer Clivet has established a European hub at the SuperLab Bicocca in Milan.

Superlab Bicocca is a new 100m long, three-storey, 6500m2, multi-tenanted office building in the industrial area north of Milan city centre. Powered solely by renewable sources the building boasts LEED Gold certification.

The new Clivet headquarters office will be dedicated to export sales and will also host a new Clivet-Midea R&D centre. Clivet and Midea inaugurated its first innovation centre in October 2021 at its plant in Feltre. A further R&D hub will be opened in Padua this year.

Space on the ground floor of the Superlab Bicocca will also be used as an international training centre, with a special area equipped for tests and simulations.

The company plans to expand the current staff level of 16 to around 70 by 2024.

The inauguration was attended by European Parliament environment committee (ENVI) MP Danilo Oscar Lancini and officials of leading associations, as well as representatives of sponsor partner AC Milan, including football legends Franco Baresi and Daniele Massaro.

Clivet’s European expansion will also be supported by the construction in Feltre of a new 30,000m2 factory dedicated to heat pump production, with 300 new employees to be hired during 2024.
