Daikin ceo to step down

JAPAN: Unconfirmed reports from Japan that Daikin Industries chairman and ceo Noriyuki Inoue will step down as CEO next week.

Current president and chief operating officer Masanori Togawa is rumoured to to be his successor.

Noriyuki Inoue, 79, has been chairman and ceo since 2002 in a career with the Japanese air conditioning manufacturer spanning 57 years.

It is said that he will continue to serve as chairman and assume a new post to promote closer coordination with group companies overseas, according to Kyodo News.
