Daikin enters into alliance with boiler maker
31st May 2024JAPAN: Daikin has entered into a capital and business alliance with Miura Corporation, an industrial boiler manufacturer based in Matsuyama on Japan’s Shikoku Island.
Daikin will invest in Miura and acquire 4.67% of the issued shares, while Miura will invest in Daikin Applied Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin, and acquire 49% of the issued shares.
The two companies intend to provide one-stop solutions for heat, air and water, including air conditioning, steam boilers, and water treatment systems, in factories across Japan.
Established in 1959, Miura manufactures and maintains steam boilers, which are the main heat source in a range of industrial applications such as factories, commercial buildings, hospitals, as well as water treatment equipment, food equipment, medical equipment. In Japan, the company operates with over 1,200 field engineers.
A statement on the Daikin website says: “This partnership will combine Daikin’s abundant lineup of air conditioning and refrigeration products with high energy saving and environmental performance, the engineering capabilities that Daikin Applied has cultivated, and Miura’s field service capabilities such as proposals to customers, equipment operation and support, mainly at factories, to solve issues such as energy saving and reduction of CO2 emissions throughout the factory.”
