Daikin installs outdoor AC in Tokyo complex
17th June 2026
JAPAN: Daikin is to install outdoor air conditioners at the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu complex with the aim of combating the summer heat and improving the comfort of visitors.
The first phase of the Tokyo Cool Project will see the installation of two Daikin outdoor air conditioners in the Galleria on the 1st floor of the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, a massive 45-storey mixed-use skyscraper and lifestyle complex opened in 2023.

The project will run until September 30. Working with real estate company Mitsui Fudosan, Daikin’s project partner, the knowledge gained will be used to explore new approaches to heat stress countermeasures in urban areas and their potential for expansion to other facilities and areas.
Daikin says it will also work to create a safe, secure, and comfortable urban space for visitors and promote sustainable urban development.
