Danfoss opens Chinese compressor R&D centre

CHINA: Danfoss has officially opened a new 7,000m2 global refrigeration R&D and testing centre in Wuqing, Tianjin.

Attached to the Danish company’s commercial compressor factory in Tianjin, the new R&D centre will be mainly dedicated to the R&D and testing of commercial compressor frequency conversion technology, heat pump and other industrial applications, as well as environmentally friendly refrigerant alternatives. 

The $20m total investment is the largest since Danfoss established its Chinese venture in 1996. Since then, the Tianjin factory has become one of largest among the company’s factories in China. It is also the company’s main production base in the Asia-Pacific region.
