Decsa CEO dies on Mount Etna

ITALY: Italian cooling tower and condenser manufacturer Decsa has announced the death of its CEO, Nicola Ruiz de Cardenas, after an accident on Mount Etna at the weekend.
According to reports, he slipped on an icy slope and was taken to hospital in Catania by helicopter but died before arriving.
In a statement the company said: “Nicola was much more than a leader, he was a visionary. His smile, passion for his work, and unwavering commitment to leading and inspiring others made him a truly extraordinary person.
Having joined Decsa in 1992, he took over the leadership of the company in 2004, carrying on the legacy of his father, Dr Gianluca de Cardenas. Decsa joined the Cofinair Group in 2022.
“Under his leadership, Decsa has not only embraced innovation and sustainability, but has also become a symbol of excellence within the Cofinair Group,” the company said.
“Nicola’s passion for people and progress has been the driving force behind Decsa’s success. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and boundless energy.”
