Ebara to acquire Mitsubishi’s motor business

JAPAN: The Ebara Corporation is to acquire Mitsubishi Electric’s three-phase motor business.
In addition to the three-phase and interior permanent magnet motor businesses, the deal the production facilities and lines at Mitsubishi Electric’s Shinshiro factory, a satellite site of its Nagoya works in Shinshiro City, and the industrial motor, pump, and die casting businesses operated by Mitsubishi Electric’s Thai subsidiary, Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand).
The transfer of the assets, rights, and obligations of the businesses is expected during 2026.
Mitsubishi Electric’s Nagoya works Shinshiro factory, which also produces main spindle motors and servo motors for CNC systems are not part of the transfer to EBARA, and will continue to be manufactured using the portion of the facility retained by Mitsubishi Electric.
