Europe celebrates 10 millionth heat pump

BELGIUM: Those involved in the heat pump industry have been celebrating the installation of Europe’s 10 millionth heat pump.

Organised by the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) and sponsored by Carel, tonight’s event in Brussels recognised this landmark figure with a special party.

Speaking ahead of the event, EHPA secretary general Thomas Nowak, said “Today we celebrate what we have accomplished so far. But tomorrow more heat pumps will be needed. The new energy system will require further integration of technologies and sectors and we need policy-makers to facilitate this change. This is to be continued in 2018.”

Compared to all existing thermal solutions, the share of heat pumps still remains modest in Europe but is growing at an increasing rate.
