Fourth F-gas meeting gets go-ahead
BRUSSELS: The Lithuanian presidency has given a mandate for a fourth trialogue meeting in a last-ditch effort to save the F-gas regulation revisions.
The news suggests that concessions or new negotiating positions could be on the table from either the council, which represents member states, and/or the MEPs.
The last meeting broke down at the end of November amidst rumours of a walk-out by green MP and rapporteur Bas Eickhout. The main sticking points appear to be the severity of the phase-down schedule and product bans.
No date has been set for the meeting but it is likely to take place within the next few days.
