Lu-Ve’s new filter gathers awards

Lu-Ve director and chief communications officer Fabio Liberali with the Gulfood award

ITALY: Lu-Ve’s recently introduced Igea sanitising filter is already receiving international recognition.

Launched in September, the Igea won the Most Innovative Processing Solution Award at this month’s Gulfood Manufacturing 2021, the food processing and preservation show at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Earlier in the month, Igea was recognised as one of the best technologies/innovations in the refrigeration field also at the Knvvk & young cool innovation Award 2021, organised by the Dutch refrigeration association.

Igea sanitises the air and eliminate viruses, bacteria and other pathogens. Tests conducted by the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan are said to have shown a 100% reduction in the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 after only 30 minutes of use.

Further tests performed by the University of Salento have also shown that Igea can reduce the amount of the hormone ethylene, which is responsible for the ripening of vegetables. This reduction postpones their spoilage, extending the shelf life of foodstuffs by up to 15 days.

The Igea kit is said to be simple to install and can be applied on all commercial dual discharge air coolers produced by Lu-Ve Exchangers, Alfa Lu-Ve and AIA.
