Mitsubishi extends R32 City Multi portfolio

Mitsubishi Electric’s PUMY units will soon be available with R32

GERMANY: Mitsubishi Electric has announced an expansion of the use of the lower GWP refrigerant R32 in its City Multi VRF air conditioning portfolio.

In an announcement coinciding with this week’s online ISH exhibition, Mitsubishi Electric said it has extended its City Multi range with new PUMY systems based on R32. The PUMY outdoor units are often used to supply several small rooms and are now available with R32 in three sizes from 12.5 to 15.5 kW.

Mitsubishi Electric was first to use R32 in VRF systems when, in 2019, it announced the adoption of the lower GWP A2L refrigerant in its City Multi YNW range covering sizes from 22kW to 34kW.

This latest announcement closes the gap in Mitsubishi Electric’s for VRF R32 devices in the lower power requirement.

It is said that up to eight indoor units from a large choice of indoor models from Mitsubishi Electric’s M series and the Mr Slim series can be combined with one PUMY outdoor unit.
