Modine to expand Airedale brand in US

USA: Modine is expanding its Airedale brand in the USA with new products and increased production to meet the surge in demand from the booming data centre industry.

The company is expanding its existing offering of coils and coolers to computer room air handlers (CRAH) and chillers for the US market.

To supplement its existing plant in Grenada, Mississippi, Modine recently announced a $7m investment to convert its former warehouse in Rockbridge to a new production line for Airedale data centre cooling solutions.

The US-made product range focuses on high-capacity cooling with minimum energy input, tied together with next-generation controls.

In addition, new products under the Airedale by Modine brand will include the SmartCool One CRAH chilled water precision cooling system with operating capacities up to 1MW and the AireWall fan wall range for high-density environments with solid-floor architectures.

Both of these precision air handlers are designed to operate in tandem with the Airedale free-cooling air-cooled chiller range, also available to Modine’s US clients. This range comprises TurboChill, with capacities between 200-1830kW, based on energy efficient oil-free compressor technology, and utilising both R134a refrigerant and low GWP R1234ze. Completing the chiller roster is the OptiChill range of R134a screw-based chillers, offering cooling capacities of 750-1365kW.

Completing the Airedale by Modine US portfolio is a range of dry coolers with capacities up to 1882kW.
