SWEP pledges $30m to boost production

SWEDEN: Brazed plate heat exchanger manufacturer SWEP is to invest $30m over the next two years to more than double the manufacturing capacity for larger-sized products.
The investments will include new furnaces, test equipment, press lines and automation in SWEP’s five factories worldwide – Landskrona (Sweden), Košice (Slovakia), Suzhou (China), Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA) and Selangor (Malaysia).
The investment is aimed at supporting the increasing demand for data centre cooling solutions, and the move to industrial and commercial heating/cooling systems based on energy efficient heat pumps and chillers using lower GWP refrigerants.
“We’re seeing significant global demand for best-in-class heat transfer technology driven by hypergrowth in critical infrastructure markets,” revealed SWEP president Ulrika Nordqvist. “This investment enables us to further expand our operations and align our manufacturing throughput to the aggressive growth goals our customers have established to deliver heating and cooling systems at scale.”
