Tefcold buys German fridge supplier Eureka

DENMARK/GERMANY: Tefcold, the Danish commercial refrigeration equipment wholesaler, has acquired German cooler and freezer company Eureka.

Established in 1967 and based in Emsdetten, Eureka is the owner of the Esta brand. It has a total of 15 employees and majors on selling commercial coolers and freezers to large brand owners such as beer and ice cream manufacturers in Germany.

Following the acquisition, the company will continue to work from the Emsdetten offices but change its name to Tefcold DE GmbH.

“The addition of Eureka to the Tefcold Group will strengthen the group and help us strengthening the presence of the Tefcold brand in the important German market,” said Tefcold CEO Jesper Kirkeby Hansen.

“We have decided to sell Eureka for personal reasons but cannot imagine a better owner than Tefcold,” commented Eureka part owner Eric Thiery.  “We have known Tefcold for many years and have a very close relationship to the company and the owners of Tefcold.”

Tefcold area sales manager Simon Christensen has been promoted to managing director Germany and will head up the management in Tefcold DE GmbH.
