US Congress passes HFC phase-down bill

USA: The US Congress has passed a bill which will bring the country into line with Kigali Amendment to phase down HFC refrigerants.
The American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2020, along with other sustainable energy measures, was tacked onto a $900bn pandemic relief package before Congress last night.
The massive 5,593-page document will see the US mirroring the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol which requires developed countries to achieve an 85% cut from the baseline by 2036.
