FRANCE: United Technologies, parent company of US air conditioning manufacturer Carrier, has confirmed its intention to purchase CIAT and expand its hvac portfolio.

In a statement, UTC Building & Industrial Systems says it intends to maintain and grow the CIAT brand.  In addition, it plans to reinforce and expand CIAT’s global network of distribution channels as well as its existing service offering.

“CIAT is a well-established hvac company recognised for its product quality, technical expertise and skilled workforce,” said Philippe Delpech, chief operating officer of UTC Building & Industrial Systems Intercontinental Operations. “This agreement will enhance Carrier and CIAT product and service offerings to better serve our customers around the world,” he added.

Francis Guaitoli, director general of the CIAT Group, said: “The skills of women and men of our company are without any doubt the main wealth of the CIAT. It is therefore in capitalising on this extraordinary know-how that we will strengthen the foundations of our brand. The UTC Group represents an unprecedented opportunity for our company.”

The terms of UTC Building & Ind Industrial Systems’ offer are not being disclosed.
