Ziehl-Abegg to build €25m factory in China
18th August 2026
CHINA: German motor and fan manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg has broken ground on a new €25m production facility in China.
The new facility in Yexie Town, Shanghai, is scheduled to become operational in October 2027 and will increase the local workforce from around 700 employees today to more than 1,000.
The new site will replace the company’s existing facility in neighbouring Xinbang Town, built in 2010. Manufacturing space will increase from 40,000m2 to 63,000m2.

Ziehl-Abegg says that the new site will strengthen its local research and development capabilities, enabling it to align products even more closely with the specific requirements of Chinese customers.
The new facility is said to be a response to the increasing global demand for its energy-efficient ventilation technology, particularly those supporting artificial intelligence in data centres.
Ziehl-Abegg currently employs around 700 people in China and operates eleven sales offices covering all major economic regions across the country.
