Brazilian store switches to R290 refrigeration

BRAZIL: AHT has supplied R290 refrigerated cabinets to replace R404A units in 36 Swift stores across Brazil.

After a test run at a Swift store in Valinhos, the Brazilian food company JBS decided to change all 28 refrigerators and freezers operated with R404A for environmentally friendly, plug-in devices with low GWP propane (R290) refrigerant from AHT.

AHT, a Daikin group company, subsequently installed Kinley XL and Paris cabinets across 36 stores of the company’s stores. Daikin VRV air conditioning systems were also installed in seven stores.

By combining the efficiency of the AHT cabinets with the new Daikin VRV air conditioning systems, JBS has achieved substantial energy savings and is projected to save more than 435 tons of CO2 per store in 10 years.

AHT has been successfully supplying JBS Swift in Brazil, Mexico and the USA since 2015. The project was carried out by AHT Brazil and the AHT headquarters in Rottenmann, Austria.
