AUSTRIA: Carrier Commercial Refrigeration has claimed the first transcritical CO2 installation in a distribution centre in Austria at the new SPAR facility in Ebergassing.

Carrier’s CO2OLtec system is providing the refrigeration for the new 44,000m2 building, 19,000m2 of which are dedicated to refrigerated goods.

“Our new distribution centre is one of the world’s most innovative and sustainable of its kind; not only in terms of logistics management, but also with regard to the refrigeration technology we have implemented,” said Gerald Geiger, director, building/energy/technology, SPAR Austria.
