The way we were 2 – 1983

IMI-1983

Following last week’s dip into the air conditioning archive, we’ve dragged this one out of the closet from the early 80s – a gathering at IMI Marstair.

A photo from 1983, we believe, but what was the occasion? Not a distributor meeting as there are a number of trade press present (Len Sanford, editor of the long-defunct HAC Journal and John Padgett of H&V Review, to name but two).

A particularly young-looking Ian Fitzackerly, John Roe and Neville Hyde feature in the front row. There’s an appearance by Nigel Manning along with brother Richard and IMI’s Joe Ross, Roy Holden and Ron Jubb also feature.

Some of the others we know, or think we know, but are loath to embarrass ourselves or those in the photo by getting the names wrong.

So, can anyone fill in the gaps?
