Carrier launches AquaSnap chiller on R32

EUROPE: Carrier’s AquaSnap scroll chiller is now available in a more efficient range using lower GWP refrigerant R32.

The lower GWP of R32 combined with a significant system refrigerant charge reduction of up to 30% enables Carrier to claim an 80% reduction in direct greenhouse gas emissions compared to the previous range using R410A.

The AquaSnap range covers capacities from 40kW to 940kW and achieves an SEER12/7 of up to 5.33 and an SCOP of up to 3.77.

“Carrier’s AquaSnap range with R32 refrigerant allows our customers to anticipate compliance to Ecodesign 2021 requirements while supporting the next phase down steps of the European F-gas regulation for HFC,” said Didier Genois, Carrier’s vice president, HVAC commercial, Europe.

Carrier says the AquaSnap with R32 refrigerant can meet the needs of a wide scope of applications. It covers an extended operating map, up to 48ºC outdoor ambient, and features a range of energy efficient technologies. These include multiple scroll compressors, dual circuit brazed asymmetric plate heat exchangers, smart energy monitoring, variable-speed fans and pumps, and Carrier’s Greenspeed intelligence on premium versions.
